The Big Language Update 🌍

We’ve added a couple new features to the app for any multilingual signers out there. But don’t worry, even if you don't translate your signs into any other languages, we added some new voice options and overall tweaks as well. Read on to learn more!

New Features

New Languages & Accents

Discover a voice in your chosen language and accent, or just switch up your voice style!  For some of the more common languages like English, Chinese, Spanish, French, and Italian, there’s a ton of new accents to choose from. We’ve added Armenian, Estonian, Kazakh, Mongolian, Nepali, Sundanese, and Swahili just to name a few. Check if we added your language to the full list of available languages.

New Language Switcher

Some people tend to switch which language they use multiple times per day, depending on who they’re around, or which situation they’re in. You might speak one language with your coworkers, and a different one with family when relaxing at home. In the older version of the app, in order to switch between languages, you would need to go into your voice settings, and choose from your list of saved voices before going back to signing.

Now, all you need to do to switch languages is tap a button right on the home page, without needing to take a break from signing. 

Improved Translation in Vacation Mode

We’ve upgraded the neural machine translation between languages so that translations are more accurate, and better handle differences in writing systems, accents and text direction. As a result you can be more confident than ever signing between languages while on holiday or at home.

Better Quality Arabic Voice

We've developed new technology to refine the pronunciation of Arabic voices, so they now sound more natural and accurate. This means our Arabic speech generation is to a higher standard than any other AI generated voice used today; even by major companies such as Google and Microsoft.
